Unfruitful is Not Failure

There are seasons when nothing grows, not because the seed was weak, but because the ground was never supposed to hold it.

Some soil teaches the seed what it is not meant to become. This is because some soil is only a passageway. It presses, resists, and withholds–not out of cruelty, but out of direction.

We mistake barrenness for failure. We question the authenticity of the seed—why it didn’t bloom where it fell—not understanding that not every place that receives you is meant to keep you.

Some ground bruises you just enough to loosen your grip on what is familiar. Grounds that refuse fruit, so you will finally lift your eyes and notice the field prepared somewhere else.

Growth cannot always be seen. Sometimes it looks like waiting. Sometimes it looks like leaving.

Survival alone is not the same as flourishing.

When the seed is carried by wind, by hand, by faith, to the soil that recognizes it, the same seed will break open with ease–not because it changed, but because it finally arrived where it belonged.

“While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night shall not cease.” – Galatians 8:22
