Help Us Produce Our Next Cultural Conversation between Married vs. Single Black People
At SISTAH Magazine, we create social experiments that turn real conversations into journalism, film, and community impact.
Through our production series, Our True Colors, we explore the issues shaping Black communities—relationships, identity, economics, gender dynamics, and the tensions we often avoid discussing.

ABOUT THE SEGMENT
Married vs. Single Black People
In a culture shaped by dating apps, shifting gender roles, and evolving relationship expectations, we’re asking a deeper question: do married and single people see love, commitment, and modern relationships differently?
This social experiment brings together married and single men and women from different age groups to examine attraction, standards, communication, and the realities of partnership in today’s world.
As conversations unfold, participants confront topics like loyalty, independence, dating culture, gender expectations, and long-term commitment. Have modern relationships become harder to sustain? Does marriage change perspective? And how have media and social norms shaped the way people approach love, trust, and commitment today?
This episode challenges assumptions, sparks honest dialogue, and explores the growing divide between modern dating culture and lasting partnership.
