Close Your Eyes and Rise

Before the world asks again
for your hands, your heart, your healing
Pause
Lay your crown on the table and breathe.
You are not made of endless fire,
though you burn so beautifully.
You are not the world’s mule,
nor its miracle on command.
You are sun and soil,
soft rain and thunder,
a symphony meant to rest
between each note of resilience.
Let your body be a sanctuary,
not a battlefield.
Let your dreams stretch
without apology.
Rest is not weakness
it’s a return.
To your breath, your laughter,
your own divine rhythm.
Black woman,
you are allowed to stop saving everyone.
The world will not unravel
if you close your eyes.
But you might finally rise
in your wholeness
glowing, unbroken,
and free.
